Workers' Comp During a Pandemic

Michael Kitzman • Oct 01, 2020

Your case is still moving, just not the same as before

Covid-19 has changed a lot of things for all of us. But for injured workers, the pandemic has also meant longer delays and new steps in order to get treatment, benefits, and even their day in court. By this point, both the Maryland Workers' Compensation Commission and the D.C. Office of Workers' Compensation have begun rescheduling and holding hearings.  D.C. hsa opted for a fully virtual system, with video hearings.  Maryland has opted to hold socially distant workers' compensation hearings in the same locations as they have in the past.

Both situations mean that fewer cases are being heard than before. This means that you need to be prepared for your court date and it also means that you should have an experienced attorney to help you through the new changes that continue to take place on a constant basis.
